Khali Yoga is by far my favorite yoga studio in all of Charlotte. I have tried out a number of other studios and I truly felt so welcomed and at home when I first went to Khali! They treat everyone like family, they provide one of the most beautiful and peaceful spaces and even include meditations/sound bath music. Khali Yoga studio is an experience unlike any other!
It’s been YEARS since I have been to a yoga center that I felt provided me with what I was looking for physically and spiritually. After my first class at Khali, I had a feeling this center might provide that but I wanted to give it a few more classes. After coming to Khali for a few weeks, and I can confirm this place is magical! For me yoga and meditation are not just daily or weekly tasks, it is a spiritual experience and moment. If that is something that is important to you or if that is something you are looking for, you will find that here! It’s a great workout for the mind, body, and soul. Khali is also a safe space for all people! This is a beautiful place that I cannot recommend enough.
I love this place! I have been to many yoga studios in Charlotte since yoga one closed and none of them were what I was looking for. Finally I found somewhere that, dare I say, is even better! I am always greeted with a smile, the instructors are fabulous and take the time to correct form and teach new poses. The space is gorgeous and very clean. Highly recommend.
Khali feels like home. The first class I took was a sound bath/ bowl meditation and I’ve continued taking class since. I find the space to be peaceful, welcoming and every class I’ve taken leaves me feeling fulfilled. I would highly recommend!
Khali is my sanctuary, for many reasons.
The unlimited yoga membership is the best value I've ever seen.
And I love the diversity here--something I missed in other studios. Seeing people of all shapes and sizes who look like me makes a big difference.
The classes are great, and there are options for those who prefer less intense heat. It seems like most yoga in Charlotte is hot yoga, and Khali's warm, hot, and indoor/outdoor classes provide a good balance (pun intended!). The indoor/outdoor yoga on their gorgeous patio is a treat: beautiful trees, landscaping, and nature sounds.
Each class challenges me, and I always leave feeling like I made the best use of my time and money.
Ian adds something special to Khali. He doesn't just call out the postures on a loop. He reads the room and will often take a moment to share technical insights. Learning accurate alignment in class has definitely made a positive impact on my yoga journey. Michelle's classes are another highlight. Her classes feel like yoga church to me.
The studio itself is a beautiful, family-run establishment that reflects the values of our neighborhood.
I'm so grateful to have this studio right down the street. A huge thanks to Khali and the team for creating such a safe and inclusive space for everyone!
Favorite yoga studio in Charlotte! The indoor/outdoor feel of the practice space is very zen, especially when it rains! Regularly take the Sunday 10am class with Ian Grosh and look forward to it. He is a joy of an instructor and makes class fun! Khali is inviting and unpretentious. Highly recommend Khali!
Because I have low blood pressure, I have been advised by my doctor to avoid hot vinyasa yoga. However, I love sound baths and deep stretch classes, so I was very excited to attend a deep stretch sound bath at Khali.
The people were warm and welcoming. The space is gorgeous. The live music was lovely. However, I simply did not have enough space to do the stretches properly for my body. I have herniated discs in my spine and many of the stretches were spinal twists. I need a bit more space to do these in a way that is safe for my body. I cannot curl up like a pretzel, but pretzel space was really all that was available around me. Without exaggeration, I think there were about 6 inches between each mat on either long side and maybe 8 to 12 inches between mats on the short edges, enough to fit blocks but not really enough for unused bolsters.
I was also confused as to whether we were in a restorative class or a more active deep stretch class. Some of the stretches seemed like we were not supposed to be holding them actively at all, so restorative, but others I had no idea how to hold them without actively engaging many of my muscles, so not restorative. I was also frustrated that no modifications were described, especially given how long we were holding the poses. Fortunately, I was familiar with many of the poses and knew how to make my own modifications to protect my lower back.
I really wanted to like this class, but I feel frustrated and disappointed.
The minute I step foot into Khali yoga I am greeted with friendly smiles and great vibes. I have loved each and every class I have gone to! The environment and the instructors are absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommend this yoga studio! They really know what they are doing at Khali yoga!
